2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

Cousineau  / Photos by Michelle Herrera Cousineau        With sixty-one years dedicated to extraordinary automotive displays, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance has earned a dedicated following, drawing the finest automobiles from the United States and around the globe. The sheer number of distinctive cars that come out to play - and be displayed - at this annual event is staggering. This year, the total included over two hundred automobiles (plus more than twenty motorcycles) arrayed on the picturesque 18th fairway at the Lodge at Pebble Beach.

2011 Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance

The second annual Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance brought the era of the Classics to life on Sunday, May 1, 2011. The grand Doheny Mansion in Beverly Hills hosted a display that included over thirty Classics arrayed around the 1920s-era estate. In all, over one hundred twenty automobiles and twenty motorcycles were exhibited. Jay Leno dropped by, driving a spectacular Deusenberg. View photo gallery

The event, presented by the City of Beverly Hills, benefitted the Friends of Greystone in support of estate's ongoing restoration.

Spotlight on San Marino Motor Classic

Design in Motion and SoCal CCCA Grand Classic - The venerable CCCA Grand Classic tradition took a charitable turn in this year's inaugural San Marino Motor Classic. Under the direction of SoCal CCCA Director Aaron Weiss, over eighty-five Classics were brought together in San Marino's Lacy Park for an event benefitting two local philanthropies. The Grand Classic formed part of a larger concours event, the inaugural San Marino Motor Classic, which featured nearly two hundred fifty automobiles.

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance marked its sixtieth anniversary this past August. Befitting the occasion, the earth’s orbit around the sun was temporarily suspended for the day so that the earth could revolve around Pebble Beach.  In revenge, the sun did not shine and cool temperatures prevailed. But, for those who braved the elements, it was worth it!

The stellar automobiles did not disappoint.
